NBD where NBD stands for No Body Doesit!

It all started when I decided to finance my auto loan from Emirates NBD, though it may look as if it all started when I decided to have my loan early settled. The greater sin has to be the decision to finance the loan through ENBD. I sold my Dodge Charger to a fellow and decided to settle the loan early. I had enjoyed its ride, and ENBD was going to make sure it takes me for a ride which I will regret

1.       On 15th June, I went to the Mussafah branch to request for early loan, where the representative told me it is very convenient to do it through online facielities and will be done within two days.

2.       On the same day I requested through online services, where I had a screen shot which says it will be done in two working days.

3.       On 18th June, its still not done, and I call the Call Center, where they tell me it will be done in 5 working days

4.       I tell them this is unacceptable and should be done in 2 working days as per confirmation and now you are telling me that it will be done in 5 working days is unacceptable. What if you after 5 working days you tell me it will be done in 10 working days, what will I do then

5.       The loan department on my request closed my loan early on 18 th June where they take 56,219 out of my loan and leaving AED 722 behind in my loan account. It was partially settled.

6.       I call them and they tell me its because I did not have sufficient balance when I did have sufficient balance as per my statement. I tell them even if I did not have sufficient balance, you either reject the whole or accept the whole , they cant accept or reject partially the transaction

7.       The loan department tell me its IT problem and I should place again my request to settle early without knowing that their system perhaps does not allow to settle early a loan twice, so they direct me to call center. The call center there tells me that they are not authorized to make this transaction and I should go the branch where it will be done earlier. So I have run a full circle, The branch telling me I should do it online, The loan department telling me I should do it with cll center, and the call center telling me I should do it with branch so its been 10 days since then when I am in the vicious cycle of ENBD bureaucracy in an unending loop and the funny part is that everybody since the last 10 days is telling me it will be done in 2 working days

8.       They say when you get raped and you cant do anything enjoy, so that’s what I am doing now. ENBD is raping me and I am now enjoying it. ENBD obviously has no respect for its commitments but I do respect my commitments and the person who I sold my car is suffering heavily as I am not able to transfer my car in his name. So I have cancelled my credit cards and intend to close my bank accounts. The funny part is that while credit card closing, the rep asks me the reason and that’s all he does telling me his job is to document the reason why I am closing the card not to do anything about it.

9.       People involved – the whole mussafah branch, the BM there, A lady named Pooja, Someone by the name of Ameer, but to them all I am just a statistic

10.   Status as of now – Same as what has been for the last 10 days – My issue will be solved in 10 days

11.   What I intend to do – I will blog on my blog site about this to tell the people never to bank with ENBD and if they do never to close the loan because people’s commissions are involved only at the stage of giving loan. Nobodys commission is affected if you settle early so its nobody’s problem


12.   The worst part is that I have to travel out of country and I cant just because of ENBD.
